Met Cafe, Providence RI - 1995

Met Cafe, Providence RI - 1995

Tribune Showprint poster for the October 13, 1995, show.

The Crowns have always loved Big Sandy and playing this show was a big deal for them. Also on the bill were Boston legends the Crank-Tones.

This poster was hand letter pressed by Tribune Showprint in the Midwest. The Crowns used Tribune for multiple shows after their friend and eventual bandmate Dennis Kelly gave them the tip. If you look closely, you can see a small discrepancy between "Crank" and "Tones". This is because the posters came back saying "Crankstones".

The band had to cover each posters "S" with yellow paint, and marker in a dash. But in the end, it worked.

“Fun show! I remember staying up very late a couple weeks before the show, applying white out to the posters spread out on my living room floor. Big Sandy was traveling in a 1940’s tour bus at the time and needed a place to park, so they ended up parking outside my apartment while we all partied at my place after the show. I couldn’t believe they toured in that bus; it was beautiful.” -Jason
