Warped Tour, NYC - 1998

Warped Tour, NYC - 1998

Aug 1, 1998, brought the Crowns back to Randalls Island, NYC. The last time the band was here was Lollapalooza ‘95. They had played the sparsely attended porta-john stage and had an unfortunate run-in with Beck.

Things were MUCH different this time. By summer 1998, The Crowns were a road-tested Rock and Roll machine that had been on the road for a long time. They had a head of steam, and their fans showed up in force to this gig at Warped.

The band’s set was a whirlwind of action with lots of sing-alongs and dust clouds kicking up in the pits. In one of those wonderful Warped band collaboration moments, Adam Birch, and Jon Read from The Specials jumped up on stage with the band and blew the roof off the place playing "Do The Devil" with the Crowns.
